TwistoMaze is an isometric puzzler where you'll be given the fairly simple task of guiding a character from the start of the level to the end. It's the latest game from Impossibru, who you may know from games such as The Incredible Platformer. TwistoMaze is available now for iOS and Android.

If you did happen to play The Incredible Platformer then you may recognise the little character you'll be guiding in TwistoMaze as it appears to be the same one. Except that this time you'll be guiding them through 50 levels from an isometric viewpoint instead of the typical 2D platforming setup.

It was announced earlier this week that the multiplayer beta for Mario Kart Tour would become available for all players for a limited time. That day has now arrived and so you'll be able to try out the multiplayer regardless of whether you're a subscriber to the Gold Pass or not.

The test will only be around for a short amount of time – 6 days in total – running from today until the 29th of January. There have also been a few small changes from the previous test that Gold Subscribers could access over the Christmas period last year.

Beyond anybody being able to access there will also be the option to play with players in your immediate vicinity through location data on your device. So not a huge amount of difference in reality but it's still worth noting.

Once again, Nintendo has been keen to warn players that the game's connection can become unstable or fail completely during some races. Beyond that, the game could freeze temporarily or crash completely whilst input lag can also occur, rendering steering unresponsive. There's also the possibility it could make your battery drain faster or your phone heat up more than usual. Quite a few caveats to bear in mind then.
Need friends in Mario Kart Tour? Share your friend codes here!
If you're not sure how to access the Multiplayer, it's not too hard to find. Simply tap the menu button in the centre at the bottom of the screen and from there you'll see the multiplayer icon on the far right of the second row of icons. Within that menu, you'll be able to choose whether you want to create your own lobby or jump into a random match.

With Nintendo allowing the rest of the community to join in with this beta, it's probably a good sign that the full release of the multiplayer mode for Mario Kart Tour isn't too far away. It'll be interesting to see what effect this will have on the game's popularity going forward.

Mario Kart Tour is available now on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.

Chaos Battle Chess is an upcoming strategy and auto-chess game that's heading for iOS and Android later this year. It's being developed by This Game Studio whilst publishing duties are being handled by the prolific Rogue Games.

The game has been available for Android in soft-launch in various regions as the developers work towards creating a balanced game prior to full release. It's an 8 player, a last-man-standing setup where players will draft units from across space and time.
For maiden-tongued he was, and thereof free;

Company of Heroes' iPad release has been on the cards for a while now. It was originally supposed to come out last year but game development has a habit of throwing up the odd roadblock to delay these things. But no matter, so long as the port is good when it releases no one should mind waiting a smidgen longer.

Folks will be able to dive into some WWII real-time strategy when Company of Heroes releases on iPad on 13th February. The game has been redesigned to better work on tablets with a new user interface that promises an intuitive experience on a touch screen.

If you're unfamiliar with Company of Heroes, it's a strategy game where you take command two companies of American soldiers. You'll follow them throughout 15 missions based on events that took place during WWII, starting with the D-Day invasion of Normandy.

Cyber Knights: Flashpoint is an X-COM-like turn-based strategy game set in the dystopian cyberpunk future of 2231. You're the commander of a crack team of shadow mercenaries working for the highest bidder. It's an exciting life, packed with difficult choices to make and troubled characters to befriend.

Trese Brothers' latest sounds fairly ambitious across the board, with it attempting a great many gameplay and story ideas. There's stealth, advanced hacking, turn-based combat, base building, management elements, and a wealth of squad customisation options.
